The California Community College Chancellor's Office sponsors training in the LDESM twice a year, once in northern California and once in southern California. At the conclusion of the 3-day training, participants have one year to complete the follow-up requirements which involve taking two students through the LD Eligibility & Services Model, including the Intake Interview, the assessments, and the eligibility or ineligibility determination. In addition, participants are given an example of an outside assessment report and are required to review it to decide whether the documentation is sufficient to determine LD eligibility.
